Eastern Kentucky University just announced an agreement with the National Safety Management Society that is geared towards professionals who want to take graduate-level courses in safety, security, homeland security, emergency management, loss prevention and safety management. Six months ago, I launched www.homelandsecuritydegrees.net to provide the most comprehensive list of certificate and degree programs in Homeland Security. As former Chairman of the Academic Programs Council with ASIS International, I saw first hand how fast this new and dynamic discipline was taking hold. I would get hundreds of inquiries about what programs are available in Homeland Security. There were a few websites that had a patchwork of degree and certificate programs, but not a comprehensive listing.
This website provides one of the most comprehensive listing of homeland security degree programs available. Our site lists only colleges and universities with a certificate or degree in homeland security. Emergency management, security, loss prevention, criminal justice, fire safety and other related fields are not listed since Homeland Security is a separate and distinct program.
This blog will be updated several times a week and will provide the most up to date news about homeland security degree programs. The blog will also include information on growing field of Homeland Security employment trends, insight from homeland security professors, students and employers.
